ABOUT OUR CANDLES
Each
candle order is hand-made using only lead free wicks and the
best ingredients. The fragrance oils are some of the best
available. Each candle contains the maximum amount of fragrance
the wax will hold. I get many requests for 'big company' type
fragrances, and while I can come close, there is no way to
exactly match another company's fragrance since they are
patented. Should there be a particular fragrance you are looking
for, I will do my best to find it for you. Our Natural Soy Wax
Candles are always in demand
because they are fragrant and produce
95% less smoke and soot than paraffin
candles. Soy Wax is a 100% vegetable
by-product not a petroleum by-product
Soy is a renewable resource grown on
American soil and supports our nation's
economy and farmers. Soy is non-toxic,
non-carcinogenic and burns 30 - 50%
longer and cooler than paraffin. It
cleans up easily with warm water and
soap and is easier on those suffering
from allergies and asthma. We only use
cotton wicks. |
CANDLE TIPS
Read and follow burning instructions or caution labels on your candles. Different types of candles have different instructions.
- Place candle on a stable, fire resistant surface, never place directly on furniture.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Keep burning candles out of drafts such as heat & air conditioning vents.
- Never leave candle burning unattended.
- Never move or carry a candle while it is lit.
- Keep candles out of direct sunlight. Although we have added a fade inhibitor to our candles, you may notice a change in color if they are exposed to direct sunlight. Purples seem to be affected more than others.
- Trim wick to 1/4 inch before lighting candle each time. Any time you notice a tall flame , or smoking, this is usually caused by the wick being too long. Highly scented candles are more prone to smoking, so please keep those wicks trimmed! A Handy wick trimmer is a pair of toe nail clippers.
- For pillar candles: When burning a pillar for the first time burn only until the melt pool gets close to the edge of the candle. Blow out the candle & let it cool, this will develop a reservoir so that the candle will be less likely to drip.
- After extinguishing a pillar candle the top will be warm enough for you to fold in toward the inside. This also helps to contain melted wax and helps the candle to burn all the way down.
- Should a candle start to burn off center, simply turn the candle 1/4 turn and make sure the wick is straight. A proper burning wick will
bend and sometimes causes the candle to burn faster on the side the wick bends toward.
- For container candles: Blow out the candle when the wax is 1/4 inch from the bottom of the container. Failure to do this can result in glass containers cracking or exploding.
- Enjoy your handmade candles. Each one has been hand poured, trimmed, & packaged with care. We don't mass produce our candles. Some of these are one of a kind and no two will be exactly alike.
